Gotu kola is a Sanskrit name. This plant is native to the Indian Ocean continent as well as Asian tropical areas. It grows at damp places and is easily found at the edges of swamps, streams and ditches.
Traditionally in Asia, it is used both orally and topically to cure a wide number of ailments due to its numerous healing virtues. Pegaga /gotu kola is mainly for its softening, regenerative and anti blotch properties. Its soothing and relaxing virtues is helpful when applied topically to give the extra softening treatment in relieving itching sensations on skin due to insect stings and bites.
Stretch marks are also reduced with the usage of gotu kola’s extract. This herb is able to stimulate collagen production, which is needed in skin’s healing process.
